Last Lecture by Randy Pausch

The Wall Street Journal的Jeff Zaslow 制作了一个Vedio Journal,题目叫“ Moving On”。

(I am flattered and embarassed by all the recent attention to my “Last Lecture.” … The lecture really was for my kids, but if others are finding value in it, that is wonderful. But rest assured; I’m hardly unique.)

另外,我找到Randy Pausch于2006年4月末在“50 Years of Computer Science”上的Presentation: “ Fifty Years of Computer Innovation”(可下载wmv视频,610.2M)——那个时候,他自己可能还不知道仅仅15个月之后就要做“The Last Lecture”了……

Favorite Quotations from Randy Pausch

The best gift an educator can give is to get somebody to become self reflective.

The best way to teach somebody something is to have them think they’re learning something else.

… But remember, the brick walls are there for a reason. The brick walls are not there to keep us out. The brick walls are there to give us a chance to show how badly we want something. Because the brick walls are there to stop the people who don’t want it badly enough. They’re there to stop the other people.

… Jobs. And Andy said, no, don’t go do that. Go get a Ph.D. Become a professor. And I said, why? And he said, because you’re such a good salesman that any company that gets you is going to use you as a salesman. And you might as well be selling something worthwhile like education. [long pause] Thanks.

Jobs. And Andy said, no, don’t go do that. Go get a Ph.D. Become a professor. And I said, why? And he said, because you’re such a good salesman that any company that gets you is going to use you as a salesman. And you might as well be selling something worthwhile like education. [long pause] Thanks. […]
