To achieve this mission, Bridgewater requires that each student complete the Personal Development Portfolio (PDP) program. This program is designed to encourage students to develop as whole persons by cultivating four dimensions of personal development: citizenship and community responsibility, intellectual growth and discovery, emotional maturation and physical health, and ethical and spiritual growth. The centerpiece of the program is the personal development portfolio, which all students are required to complete prior to graduation. The senior portfolio includes documentation of achievement in the four dimensions and participation in service learning, a resume meeting specific criteria, and evidence of career planning.
